ABOUT ME

My name is Jon Sussman. I began my hobby of genealogy in 2009, when my nephew, Brian, told me that he was researching our family tree. He had just started and had already found a number of fascinating source documents: grandfather's high school yearbook, etc.

I poked around a bit on the internet and found more things and within minutes I was hooked. I couldn't stop. Soon, I joined ancestry.com and, well, as the family tree grew, so did my enjoyment of the paper chase.

After a few months of intense research collecting the low-hanging fruit, I cut back the constant hours and this has become a normal hobby that I work on from time to time. Now I can do other things, like going to work and raising children.

Otherwise, I'm a mechanical engineer, a Navy vet, an avid believer in the Catholic Faith and I love studying history, philosophy, theoretical physics and eating Chinese food. But this has nothing to do with genealogy.
